解散命令請求の理由に、刑事法令違反だけでなく、民事も含まれたことについて、「拉致監禁の件数が増えると、時間を置いて裁判件数が増える。拉致監禁によって生み出された『背教者』により、裁判が起こされている」と指摘。「中立公平であるべき政府が偏った意見に基づいて、宗教団体に解散命令という『死刑宣告』を下すというのは、由々しき問題だ」と語気を強めた。
同じく拉致監禁被害者で医師の小出浩久さんは、全国霊感商法対策弁護士連絡会（全国弁連）について、「（信者は）話す価値のない人と思っている。その影響を受けたのが岸田文雄首相だ。堂々と記者会見で『断絶宣言』をするなど、全国弁連に動かされている」と訴えた。
国際弁護士の中山達樹氏は教団の信者に対して、「何らかの方法で、世間に実体を見せてほしい。『応援される団体』になるには応援される人になり、応援される行動をすべきだ」と呼び掛けた。
